About your baseball coach

Bilingual (English/Spanish) former NCAA Division 1 baseball player and current Texas Rangers Youth Academy Coach. I specialize in developing players ages 6-18 through fun, fundamentals-focused 1-on-1 and group sessions. With experience at Alcorn State University and University of Tennessee Southern, plus hands-on coaching with the Texas Rangers, I teach proper mechanics, hitting, outfield play, and character development. Passionate about helping young athletes improve and enjoy the game!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI start with a fun, low-pressure assessment of their current skills and comfort level. We focus on basic fundamentals (stance, grip, throwing mechanics) while building confidence through positive reinforcement. I explain everything clearly, demonstrate drills, and end with lots of successful reps so they leave excited for the next session.
Lesson 2-3We build on the basics with progressive drills improving throwing accuracy, basic hitting mechanics, and footwork. I’ll introduce simple game-like situations and provide personalized feedback. Expect more reps, increased confidence, and clear progress in coordination and technique.
Lesson 4-10We’ll refine core skills (hitting consistency, fielding ground balls/fly balls, base running) and introduce more advanced concepts like situational awareness. Lessons become more dynamic with fun competitive drills. Most students show noticeable improvement in mechanics, confidence, and enjoyment of the game by this stage.
Lesson 11+Continued skill mastery with more game-like scenarios, position-specific training, and mental aspects of the game (focus, resilience). I’ll help them prepare for tryouts, travel teams, or high school play while maintaining a love for baseball. Long-term focus is on well-rounded development and personal goals.
Youth players
Working with kidsI keep lessons fun, energetic, and age-appropriate with lots of movement, games, and positive reinforcement. I use simple language, short explanations, and frequent demonstrations. Focus is on building fundamentals (throwing, catching, hitting) while prioritizing safety, confidence, and enjoyment so kids stay excited about baseball.
Working with teenagersI shift to more advanced mechanics, strength & conditioning basics, and game strategy while still keeping sessions engaging. I incorporate video analysis, competitive drills, and mental skills (focus, resilience). Drawing from my D1 and Rangers experience, I help teens prepare for high school/travel ball tryouts and long-term development.
