With over two decades of experience in the game, basketball has been more than just a sport for me it’s been a life-changing journey. From intense hours in the gym and weight room to dedicated time developing my skills on the court, I’ve embraced every part of the process. I still actively play and train daily, driven by a deep love for the game. My greatest joy now comes from paying it forward coaching, mentoring, and helping players grow their skills and confidence both on and off the court. Let’s put a plan together and get to work.

Beginner training plan
Your first lesson1. Warm-Up & Dynamic Stretching (10 minutes)
• Light jog or jump rope (2–3 minutes)
• Dynamic stretches:
• High knees
• Butt kicks
• Lunges with rotation
• Arm circles
• Leg swings

2. Ball Handling (15–20 minutes)
Single Ball Drills (Down & Back):
• Right-hand dribble
• Left-hand dribble
• Crossover
• Between the legs
• Behind the back
Two-Ball Dribbling (Down & Back):
• Same-time dribble
• Alternating dribble
Advanced Movement Drills:
• Zig-zag dribble (with change of direction moves)
• Forward & retreat dribble (emphasis on control and footwork)

3. Finishing at the Rim (10–15 minutes)
Layup Series:
• Right-hand layups (focus on footwork & finishing angle)
• Left-hand layups
• Power layups (off two feet)
• Reverse layups (if applicable)

4. Shooting Drills (20 minutes)
5-Spot Shooting (Mid-Range or 3-Point Based on Player Level):
• Corner
• Wing
• Top
• Opposite Wing
• Opposite Corner
(Make 5 from each spot before moving on)
Free Throws:
• 2 sets of 10
• Emphasis on form, consistency, and routine
Cool Down (5 minutes)
• Light jog or walk
• Static stretching
• Quick reflection on session (what went well, what to improve)
Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with young children, I focus on patience, positive guidance, and understanding. I believe in creating a fun, encouraging environment where kids feel safe to learn, explore, and develop foundational basketball skills at their own pace.
Working with teenagersWhen working with teenagers, I lead with patience and guidance, while also providing the structure and firmness needed to support their growth. I focus on building trust, encouraging discipline, and helping them develop both their skills and their confidence on and off the court.
