Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson I will assess the player on their skills and where their strengths and weaknesses are. Go over simple concepts of the game with them to see what they know and or don’t know. Then I will get into simple drills; dribbling (strong hand) passing and shooting. Assessing their skills for each to get a better idea on how to approach. Put the player through conditioning drills such as sprints, defensive slides, running passes, dribbling while running to gauge their ability and speed with and without the ball.
Lesson 11+To remain focused and determined. To not get down on themselves when they miss a shot - it’s all about practice and what you put in will make you better. I can guarantee if you put in the work and follow my lead, I can get you to where you want to be.
Lesson 4-10To have a better idea of how to operate at a full court level. By putting all the tools together to create movement and understand the flow of the game all while maintaining a consistent flow and using the skills and knowledge to move onto the next level. Basketball takes practice and practice makes perfect. I can get any player to that level if they understand hard-work, determination and to have fun !
Lesson 2-3For this lesson I would come up with a plan from how I first started - lay up drills, shooting drills, passing drills, defensive drills. Putting them in the motion on how to use these skills in a real game, while still focusing on their weaknesses to move on to the next lesson of improving those weaknesses. Using different drills to show how to use different techniques is key. Helping them understand when to pass, shoot or dribble. Understanding the concept of a good pass and a good shot rather than just shooting to shoot. Helping the player to understand traveling, double dribble, fouling and how to avoid those situations. Basketball is a situational game and learning the rules and using the right techniques will make you better.

What you need to bringI expect students to bring a positive attitude first and foremost. That is key to understanding the importance of learning and how to be successful. Materials: basketball shoes, sportswear, plenty of water

What I can bringI am equipped with different equipment to enhance your experience. From agility training (speed ladder, jump ropes, cones, hurdles) to strength training (heavy weight ball, ankle weights, dumbbells, box jump) to the necessary gear for skills and drills (basketballs, speed ladder, defender dummy, foam pad) I use all of this equipment to get your trained and ready for the next level. Basketball training isn’t all about the ball in your hand, you also have to work on your strength and endurance which will benefit you on the court with how you move and finish.
