In the first lesson, I focus on building a strong foundation and making the player feel comfortable. We assist their current skill level through basic drills, like dribbling footwork shooting form while also introducing the mindset I expect during training effort, focus, and consistency. The goal is to boost confidence, teach the basics clearly and set the tone for growth moving forward.
From lesson 11 onward player shift from just learning fundamentals to applying them in game like situations we focus on refining strengths addressing weaknesses, and building a signature style play expect advanced drills, situational breakdown in full court movements. This is where players begin to truly understand the game, perform under pressure and feel confident in their identity on the court.
Lesson 4 hrough 10 focus on building confidence through repetition skills, stacking and real-time game. Understanding we begin combining learned movements like dribbling into a shot or driving after a jab step while introducing simple reads one on one drills situational awareness these sessions build basketball IQ improve reactions and prepare the athlete for more competitive play
Lessons two and three we dive deeper into skill development with a focus on ball control movement and footwork players begin working on dribbling while moving proper layup form, defensive stance, and basic basketball concepts like spacing and court awareness sessions are about repetition, structure, and helping beginners feel more in control of the ball and their body
With things, the first lesson is all about me and them where they’re at while showing them I’ll take their development seriously I assess their skills through basic drills ball handling, footwork, and shooting and use that time to get a feel for their work ethic line set. I’ll keep it real motivational and focused letting them know I’m here to help them grow not just on the court but mentally
After lesson 11 teens start stepping into their basketball identity. We refined their strongest skills, introduce advanced concepts Shut up like reading screens or creating space and simulate game pressure through situational drills. I challenge them to think like leaders whether they play point guard or power forward. At this point it’s about developing a complete player who can show up with purpose and pride in their game!
By this stage, we’re tracking skills rather they’re trying to make the team or simply elevate their game these sessions focus on combining moves, mastering, footwork, finishing under pressure and understanding game situations. I teach them how to think while they play making reads, adjusting to defenders and using their stress. I also continue to build their confidence and discipline through focused high energy sessions.
Blessings two and three are where we start correcting form, improving ball control, and introducing more structural movement like dribbling into layups or reading the court I push things to focus and challenge themselves while keeping things engaged if they got bad habits, we work on breaking those early, my goal is to start building their confidence by showing them real improvement from day one
