Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI would love to establish a baseline level of performance. I will do this by gauging how the client performs on a series of drills/exercises. From there, I can make a tailored plan for their goals! If additional time allows, I would like to work on any fundamentals.
Lesson 11+At this point, I would transition the lessons to be primarily goal focused. Whether that is overall improvement, jumpshot focus, in-game maneuvers, etc., I want to help my client reach their maximum potential. I look forward to working with my clients to help them appreciate basketball as much as I do!
Lesson 4-10Once the beginner has a firm grasp on basketball basics, I would transition into more nuanced aspects: Reactions to a defense, introductions into more advanced terminology/rules, and building the off-hand. All while continuing to hone the fundamentals.
Lesson 2-3I would work with a beginner to ensure their competency in basketball fundamentals. This would include multiple close range shots, basic ball handling, working on jump shot form, and conditioning if necessary.
