Derek is an excellent instructor. He patiently explained the basics of golf without making it too technical. I never played golf before lessons with Derek. By the end of the lesson, I could hold the club properly and hit the ball with some distance and felt comfortable to play a game.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonDiscussion of goals, equipment, basics of grip, stance, and swing.
Lesson 11+Refining swing mechanics associated with all 3 components. Advanced drills to tweek swing and produce results.
Lesson 4-10Deep dives into mechanics of each swing component. Focus on wedges first, followed by mid irons, culminating with woods. Putting session could be done depending on student progress. Provide drills for students to do so that feel and muscle memory can be established.
Lesson 2-3Discussion of components of golf: putting, chipping, and full swing. Mechanics of each component at a high level in prep for deep dive lessons in each.
