How it works

Beginner training plan

Your first lessonThis will be a basic driving range session to get to know you and your goals with golf. I usually start with the fundamentals first and slowly work up from there. Things usually covered in the first lesson include the following - Grip - Stance - Alignment - Ball Position

Lesson 11+Lesson 11 - Your first test where you play 9 holes. By this time you will be comfortable and confident enough in your abilities to take it on the course! Lesson 12-19 - If you have booked lessons to this point we will look at what you struggled with on the 9 holes and create a new lesson structure from there. And you are officially an Intermediate Golfer! Lesson 20 - The true test of an 18 Hole Golf Round keeping track of your full round score!

Lesson 4-10Lessons 4 - Now that you have the fundamentals we will work on practicing all of the different clubs. In this lesson I explain what all of the different clubs do and where they should be used at. Lesson will start with the wedges and end with the woods and driver. Lesson 5 - after lesson 4 we should have a good idea of which clubs you are strong with and which ones you need to work on. In my decade of teaching most students struggle with the long irons, woods, and then driver since they require slightly different stances to hit consistently. This lesson will mainly focus on those clubs Lesson 6 - We will start this lesson with the clubs you struggle with again and then make small adjustments if you still still struggle with them. If you feel comfortable enough with them I will introduce the process for the proper downswing. I’ll give you great drills you can do on your own to really hammer this in Lessons 7 - This will be the final driving range session. The first 30 minutes we will test and review all of these aforementioned fundamentals. And the last 30 minutes will be to combine them all Lesson 8-9 - These two lessons will be your first introduction to the short game. Specifically chipping and pitching short shots around the green. Lesson 8 will be an overview and practice. Lesson 9 we will put it into real course practice situations such as bunker shots, flop shots, and shots from thick grass. Lesson 10 - Will be a putting lesson from all different green locations to put yourself in on course situations. These could be long putts, downhill slopes putts, and short ones within 5 feet.

Lesson 2-3Lesson 2 - The first 30 min will be to focus on the fundamentals learned in lesson 1. The next 30 minutes will be to work on the first move of the swing called the takeaway and how to compress the ball to get good consistent ball flight Lesson 3 - This lesson will be a complete practice combining both the fundamentals, takeaway, and compression previously taught. I will give multiple drills to work on at home as these are the most important aspects to the golf swing. This creates a good foundation to hit good shots with consistency.

Advanced training plan

Your first lessonDriving Range session to get to know your skill level, things you struggle with, and your long term goals.

Lesson 11+Course Management Plan - This is when we will go on the course to play 18 holes. This will be an introduction on how to strategically navigate the golf course to minimize mistakes. This will incorporate the shot shaping we learned to avoid hazards, trees, and plan approach shots into the green. By the end of this plan you will have the skills to dissect any golf course by minimizing mistakes while also have the creativity and confidence to get out of those mistakes if they were to arise.

Lesson 4-10Short Game Plan - Focusing and improving up and down percentage by practicing short sided chips and bunker play with a focus on developing more shot creativity in these situations. Additionally this will include putting drills within the 5-10ft as most birdies and par saves will be within this range. Ball Control Plan - Work on shot shaping with all clubs. Playing fades and draws on command as well as high flight and low flight shots to get out of any sticky course situations. As well as an overview of how you can use these shots to decrease the effect of wind on the ball and plan your tee shots and approach shots.

Lesson 2-3Advances player lesson plans will be highly variable as players of this caliber focus with very small and specific issues. However in my decade of teaching experience I’ve found that high level players need to work on short game, ball control, and course management.
