John Carco is the Head Golf Professional at the Quail Ridge Country Club in Acton, Ma. He began his golfing career with legendary golf instructor Jimmy Ballard, one of the top 50 golf instructors in the world, and became the Boston area instructor for Mr. Ballard’s national “Play Golf Program.” John has taught in the Boston area for the past 18 years and counts professional athletes from the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots among his successful private clients.

I am just beginning to play golf and my lessons with John was a great place to start. John is awesome even though I was just learning. I really liked how we went through the basics (from the different clubs to the rules of the game). He gave me great feedback every lesson. The best thing about John is he teaches you how to diagnose a problem. For example, if I completely sliced the ball, he told me why I did that(from my form to the contact and how to fix it.) John also gave me easy, repeatable tools to improve my chipping and putting. He also gives do at home drills that really improved my game. I highly recommend John as a coach. I just started golfing and am able to play 18 holes with my parents who have been playing for a while now.

Working with John was amazing. I have enjoyed golf for many years, but recognized my game was not improving so I signed up for a (very affordable) series of lessons with John. John thoughtfully and methodically reviewed the fundamentals of driving, pitching and putting. The improvements were instantaneous. John has a very kind, encouraging and occasionally humorous approach to providing guidance. Whenever I play golf going forward, I expect to hear his voice in my head saying ” that wasn’t all bad. If your playing skills have plateaued, or you are just starting out, I highly recommend signing up for some lessons with John. You won’t regret it.

Coach John really knows his stuff. He was able to help me fix certain components of my swing while also explaining why I should fix certain pieces and what those fixes will do to the actual ball flight. By explaining to me not only what to do but why, I am able to fully understand the swing and then I am able to work on it while I am on my own as well. John is super friendly and one of the best coaches I have ever worked with. Look forward to working with him again.

John was overall-EXCELLENT. He was patient, clear with his communications and really taught me how to get myself setup with golf. Before meeting with him, my form was off and he helped me fix that as well as other fundamentals I needed help with. He was extremely professional and had a way of making it fun! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for golf lessons-young or old.

I really enjoyed my series of lessons with John. He made me feel comfortable right away, and was very patient and helpful. As a beginner, I was nervous and hesitant about learning golf, but he made me really excited to keep playing. I would highly recommend.
