Your first lesson will be a relaxed introduction. Golf can feel a bit intimidating at first, so while you warm up, weβll talk about your past experience (if any) and go over your goals. Whether you want to keep up with friends, impress coworkers, or just enjoy the game, Iβll help you look like youβve been playing for years. At the end of the lesson, weβll review your progress, answer any questions, and Iβll give you 2β3 simple drills to practice in your own time.
Now that youβre getting more comfortable with a golf club in hand, weβll review how the drills went and go over any questions you have. Iβll also show you how to track your stats, whether youβre on the course or using a simulator so we can spot and improve any problem areas.
First, Iβll answer any questions you have from recent practice or rounds. Now that youβre starting to understand the golf swing, Iβll teach you how to handle different on-course situations and play a round without stress. Golf is 85% mental, and with my background in sports psychology, Iβll help you build confidence and stay focused from the first tee to the last putt.
At this stage, weβre no longer focused on simply learning the fundamentals, weβre refining them. Your grip, posture, and swing mechanics should feel more natural, and weβll work on fine-tuning any small flaws.
β’ Consistency & Control: Youβll start focusing more on consistency. Hitting solid shots more often, controlling ball flight, and understanding your tendencies.
β’ Course Strategy: Weβll spend time talking about how to manage your way around a course. When to be aggressive, when to play it safe, and how to recover from mistakes.
β’ Pressure Drills: To simulate real golf scenarios, you might do drills with some light pressure or targets in mind, prepping you for actual play with friends or in casual tournaments.
β’ Tracking & Feedback: Youβll be learning how to interpret your stats (simulator or on-course), and using that information to guide practice more independently.
β’ Short Game Integration: If not already covered in depth, weβll revisit or dive deeper into pitching, chipping, and putting which are all essential skills for lowering scores. Iβm sure youβve heard the saying βDrive for show and putt for doughπ°β
β’ Mental Focus: Expect more advanced guidance on routine, staying calm under pressure, and maintaining focus throughout a round, pulling from sports psychology techniques.
I begin by evaluating your full game through a brief interview and swing assessment, both on the range and short game area (or simulator if indoors). Weβll discuss goals, current ball flight, shot tendencies, and any competitive background. Using video and data, I identify one or two key areas of improvement. From there, we set a customized plan prioritizing feel, mechanics, and course management, all aligned with performance goals.
These sessions focus on targeted skill refinement. Weβll reinforce key swing changes with drills, tempo training, and shot shaping. I also incorporate wedge distance control, green-side creativity, and lag putting. For tournament players, we start integrating competitive routines and under-pressure simulations. Each lesson builds toward measurable progress with stats, feel, and confidence.
This phase is about performance consistency. We focus on eliminating double-crosses, tightening dispersion, and developing a reliable pre-shot routine. Players work on situational shot making; low/high flight, knockdowns, fades/draws on command along with deep short game work. We also simulate course strategy scenarios to enhance decision making and emotional control during rounds.
These sessions are about fine tuning and maintaining peak performance. We use launch monitor data, video, and stats tracking to ensure progress. I help players prep for tournament rounds or peak season, building confidence through competitive drills and mental game training. At this stage, you have a full toolset. Our job is to keep sharpening it and build a repeatable, tour ready approach.
