Learn Guitar with Daniel

💰$50 weekly lessons

Since 1997, I've been weaving sonic landscapes as a professional guitarist, leaving my imprint on the music scene with four albums on Spotify alongside my band, The Crimson Curtains. My musical palette spans rock, blues, jazz, pop, and Latin guitar, a testament to the diverse influences that shape my sound. Beyond the strings, I hold a master's degree in Education, intertwining my passion for music with a commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians. Join me on this melodic journey, where the mastery of frets meets the art of education, creating harmonies that resonate across genres and generations.

When I started taking group guitar lessons with Daniel Estay in Northridge. I was a shy person who wanted to play guitar but I didn’t actually think I would become good at it. What I learned from my experience with Daniel’s lessons is you never know what you will be good at until you give it your best. That was a valuable life lesson I will always remember. Daniel encouraged me to practice and made me feel like I could really get good at guitar. His techniques really made it easy to understand and learn what I needed to do to get better. I went from not knowing how to hold the guitar to being able to sight read sheet music and tabs, and play and perform a whole song within a month. After completing level 1 I felt a confidence I had never felt before and I was really excited to try the level two class. In his level 2 class, Daniel asked us what songs we wanted to learn and he was actually able to teach us how to play songs like Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, Ed Sheeren’s “Perfect”, Bon Jovi's “Wanted Dead or Alive”, Jason Mraz’s “Lucky”, and Bruno Mars’ “When I was your man”. I couldn’t believe we were actually playing our favorite pop songs in only a few weeks.

took lessons with Daniel because I wanted to improve my guitar playing for my church services. Before my lessons with Daniel I was leading the music ministry as a singing instructor and piano player but my guitar playing was very amatuer. I was really bad a rythm playing. We meet every week for about three months and by the third month I felt confident enough to lead the church band at Pleasant Hill Church. Being able to play guitar as a church music ministry leader to a professional level is often seen as an expected skill and Daniel Estay’s lessons helped me get to that level. His rhythm tips, lessons, and rhythm exercises really helped me tighten up my timing and now I can play on time and with confidence.
