Nathan is a phenomenal guitar player with expertise in music theory, improvisation, technique and especially jazz harmony. His passion for jazz shows itself in his vast knowledge of it. He’s able to explain said concepts in a way that’s easy to understand. If you’re ever having trouble understanding those concepts, he takes it a step back and gives you exercises and knowledge that can help bring you up to that level. He’s also extremely flexible with one’s learning style and is able to adjust the pace at which you learn. For instance if you’re a fast learner, he can give you as many things as you need to practice. If you’re a slower learner, he can accommodate that and give you just a few but essential things to practice. What I like about him is that he keeps things fun and useful by having you do things that actually apply to the instrument, so you have something you can use immediately. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone learning how to play jazz and even just improving as a guitar player in general.

Lesson 11+Your familiarity with the instrument has become intimate, and you are ready for the next level of theory and technique
Lesson 4-10Your understanding of the instrument deepens through our lessons, whatever that looks like for you.
Lesson 2-3We pick up right where your skill leaves off. Be it the names of the strings and how to hold the guitar, or arpeggios and chord inversions.
Youth players
Working with kidsI make learning music fun. If you aren’t having fun, you might want to reconsider what you are doing. Playing any instrument should be first and foremost enjoyable. That way, you will fall in love with practice!
