Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThis lesson will focus on scooping, cradling, throwing and catching for field players. Goalkeepers will start with stance, stick position and basic movements to stop shots.
Lesson 11+Player dependent on what will be needed as well as continuing development of skill set to more advanced levels.
Lesson 4-10These will continue to more advanced skills for all positions. Reenforcing skill strengths and working on areas that can use more skill.
Lesson 2-3These lessons build on the basic fundamentals into more position specific skills. Shooting and dodging for offensive players, footwork and defending for defensive players. Goalkeepers will learn positioning to best suit their style and more in depth ball stopping movements.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonEvaluate the current skill set, identify areas that can improve and current skill strengths. Develop a plan for future lessons.
Lesson 11+As needed, to continue the development or refresher to get the player on track.
Lesson 4-10Reevaluate the plan to ensure current course of action is getting the player to the desired level. Introduce more advanced drills to challenge the player.
Lesson 2-3Implement the plan to improve areas that need to improve while strengthening current advanced skills.
Youth players
Working with kidsI enjoy teaching young players about the great game of lacrosse from beginners to more experienced players. I have the ability to tailor each lesson to specific needs.
Working with teenagersHaving coached high school for many years and now coaching at the collegiate level I have insight into the necessary skills needed to compete at the highest levels.
What you need to bringStudents need to bring their own water, personal stick, helmet and gloves for individual skill. For contact lessons arm pads and approved shoulder pads with breast plate are required. Goalkeepers should bring all required protective equipment for every lesson.
What I can bringI provide the balls, cones and other training equipment that would benefit the student in the lesson.
