Beginner training plan
Your first trainingMy first lesson focuses on building confidence while getting to know the athlete’s experience and goals. We’ll cover proper grip, athletic stance, and basic stick handling. I’ll assess their current skill level and introduce fun drills to develop hand-eye coordination, cradling, passing, and catching. My goal is to create a positive environment where beginners feel comfortable asking questions and excited to keep learning.
Training 2-3During the second and third lessons, we’ll reinforce the fundamentals while introducing movement. Players will work on passing and catching while moving, ground balls, cradling through cones, footwork, and proper shooting mechanics (if appropriate). We’ll also begin learning basic offensive and defensive concepts through engaging drills that build confidence and consistency
Training 4-10By lessons four through ten, athletes will continue improving stick skills while learning to apply them in game-like situations. Sessions will include dodging, shooting on the run, defensive positioning, decision-making, conditioning, and small-sided games. Each lesson is adjusted to the player’s progress so they continue developing strong fundamentals while having fun.
Training 11+As athletes become more comfortable, lessons become increasingly individualized. We’ll focus on refining technique, improving speed and consistency, developing lacrosse IQ, position-specific skills, and preparing for games or team tryouts. My goal is to help each player become a confident, fundamentally sound lacrosse player while continuing to enjoy the sport.

Advanced training plan
Your first trainingThe first lesson focuses on evaluating the athlete’s current skill set, strengths, and areas for improvement. We’ll discuss their goals and assess stick skills, shooting, footwork, dodging, conditioning, and lacrosse IQ through game-like drills. From there, I’ll create a personalized training plan designed to help them reach their next level of play.
Training 2-3During the second and third lessons, we’ll build on the initial evaluation by refining stick skills, improving shooting accuracy and power, sharpening dodging techniques, and increasing decision-making speed. Drills will emphasize game-speed execution, consistency, and efficient movement under pressure.
Training 4-10Lessons four through ten focus on advanced skill development through competitive, position-specific training. Athletes can expect high-repetition drills, shooting on the run, off-ball movement, defensive reads, transition play, conditioning, and situational game scenarios. Sessions are tailored to challenge each athlete while improving confidence and performance in competition.
Training 11+Ongoing lessons are fully customized to the athlete’s goals, whether that’s preparing for the next season, earning more playing time, or competing at the collegiate level. We’ll continue refining technique, increasing game IQ, developing advanced position-specific skills, and using game film or performance feedback when appropriate. My goal is to help every athlete become a smarter, more confident, and more complete player.

Youth players
Working with kidsI create a positive, energetic environment where learning is fun and encouraging. Lessons are broken into short, engaging activities with plenty of games and repetition to keep kids focused. I emphasize proper fundamentals, teamwork, confidence, and celebrating progress so every player leaves excited to come back.

Working with teenagersI tailor each lesson to the athlete’s goals, experience, and position. Practices are more challenging and game-focused, with an emphasis on refining technique, improving lacrosse IQ, increasing confidence, and preparing for games or tryouts. I provide constructive feedback while creating a supportive environment that encourages athletes to compete, ask questions, and continue improving.

What you need to bringPlease bring your lacrosse stick, cleats or athletic shoes (depending on the training surface), water bottle, and any required protective equipment (helmet, gloves, goggles, and mouthguard if applicable). Come ready to work hard, ask questions, and have fun!

What I can bringI provide lacrosse balls, cones, agility equipment, and other training aids for drills. Players are welcome to bring their own equipment, but I can supply everything needed for a productive training session except personal protective gear.
