About your mental performance coach

Your body may be ready, but is your mind? I was a collegiate swimmer who was focused on perfection & who had an overwhelming amount of athletic identity. I wish I’d focused on building the mental side of my game when I was an athlete, but am passionate about supporting athletes as they commit to training their mental in order to improve performance and well being. I support athletes and coaches who wish to improve the mental side of performance. Whether you are struggling right now, or want to prepare for the unexpected, I can help. I empower clients to 1. Reflect on what matters to them 2. Reconnect with who they are 3. Refocus on what they can control From there, clients can build well-rounded resilience and perform successfully through the unexpected. Ground Yourself in Purpose, Rise from Your Roots.

Beginner training plan
Your first trainingI lead with curiosity, making sure my expertise aligns with the client. I try to learn as much as I can about the client and their goals before introducing skills training
Training 2-3Depending on their goals, we may work to identify or better understand their values, passions, day to day schedule/routines, and goals. From there, we may work on skills that build confidence, resilience, or awareness.
Training 4-10Continued work on the previously mentioned skills or any skills the client may need not listed. We will try out different approaches and solidify them so clients feel comfortable and confident implementing them into their routines
Training 11+Solidifying already learned skills, navigating things that come up unexpectedly, and working to make mental skills feel more innate or natural.

Advanced training plan
Your first trainingSimilar to beginners, when I work with athletes who are more advanced in skill, I lead with curiosity. I want to make sure my expertise aligns with each client I work with before jumping into offering mental skills.
Training 2-3The first few lessons will include getting to know you! In order to provide the mental skills that align best with the client and their goals, it’s very important to understand the client themselves as well as any mental skills work they have practiced in the past.
Training 4-10Here, we will start building your mental skills toolbox. Depending on each client’s goals, I will introduce topics such as awareness, confidence building, identity, routines, and more. We will try out new skills together to see which fit best with the client and move from there.
Training 11+These lessons will continue to build on clients’ skills and solidify the ways these skills fit into their day to day lives. This may also be the times we navigate things that come up unexpectedly in life or in sport. We will work together to implement mental skills in a way that feels natural and aligned.

Youth players
Working with kidsI will adapt my lesson plans based on the person sitting in front of me regardless of age. Each client learns and lives differently and I want to work with each to ensure alignment. Working with kids may look like implementing more activity based lessons versus just talking. It may include more graphics and simplified concepts than a lesson with a teenager or young adult.

Working with teenagersI will adapt my lesson plans based on the person sitting in front of me regardless of age. Each client learns and lives differently and I want to work with each to ensure alignment. Working with teenagers may look like adapting lesson times to fit in with their schedules to ensure they are not exhausted during lessons and can actually show up present and ready to work. The structure of lessons may look different depending on how each client learns or what they may be carrying that week. It depends.

What you need to bringAn open mind and a readiness to put in the work to improve the mental side of performance! If you’d like to have a notebook with you to jot down notes, that is welcomed, but not necessary!

What I can bringN/A -- no equipment needed. Just bring an open mind and a readiness to put in the work to improve the mental side of performance! If you’d like to bring a notebook to jot down notes or thoughts, that is welcomed but not necessary!

Sometimes when I’m not feeling great, I use the breathing techniques we talked about and honestly they help me a lot. The sessions really opened my eyes to how grateful I am for everything I have and for the journey I’ve been on. The perspective shifting exercises also helped me tremendously.

I loved the sessions with Lauryn because there was never really a barrier between us. I felt like I could tell her anything, and I really enjoyed working with her. It was also fun and funny at times, while still being 100% serious when it needed to be, so I really loved that balance.

With Lauryn I never felt judged, and I always left our conversations feeling a little lighter. Even though we only worked together for a short time, she made a bigger impact on me than she probably realizes.
Micheal S.
Lauryn was someone I always looked forward to talking to. She made me feel so comfortable opening up, and somehow always knew how to make me laugh even when I was having a hard time.
Amy M.
Lauryn gave me lots of helpful feedback that's easy to implement into my sport and she is very easy to talk to.
