I am Renée Benmeleh - a teaching artists passionate about the ways sound brings people together. I specialize in vocal improvisation, circle singing, drum circle facilitation, and community and ritual music, working with students at all levels to build real, lasting facilitation skills. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIf we’re working 1:1, I always want to start by getting to know what your goals are. Then we warm up our bodies and play with our voices a bit. This should be fun! I will leave you with some valuable information about how to care for your voice through technique and give you exercises to work with at home.
Lesson 2-3We progress as you continue to access forward motion with your new skills, adding a little more challenge as is appropriate.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonIf you’ve been studying voice technique and want coaching on performance, you’re serious - and we will still play because humor help us relax 😉
We will access the places where you need some strengthening and offer you practices that can get you to your goal.
Lesson 2-3Appropriately adding more challenge as the student is ready, we keep stacking skills based practices.
What you need to bringPlease ask directly - depends on the focus of the lesson.
What I can bringDjembe or other percussion. We will not need equipment for coaching or vocal lessons. For group community facilitation, I have many percussion instruments as well as an amp and microphones.
