I always start with introducing myself. I then go out to explain white and black keys high and low sounds, clap different rhythms, dance to at least one song, sing a sofage song together, play old McDonald on the black keys or chopstick or dog bingo song, then I show how to write notes and how to practice C position and show/memorize finger number’s together using 2-3 songs like thumb thumb thumb thumb is number 1, two two two pointer finger two,, and so on!
After reviewing all the rhythms, time signatures, alphabet letters, high sounds and low sounds, forte and piano. Finger #’s, C position, composing/theory writing then I go on to explaining more about the grand staff! Then start learning to play from the home notes Bass F and Treble G and build up from there using songs that help with staff memorization, FACE,ALL COWS EAT GRASS and etc! Then start playing short songs in C position on treble and bass clef, proceeding with theory, rhythm and note writing, ear training and sight reading practice☺️
Next lessons I’ll review what we went over before, dance, clap, write rhythms, go over c position and finger numbers! Then I’ll go on to show white key and play games to memorize all the white keys and the musical alphabet letters, then I’ll go over how to compose songs using rhythms, finger numbers and alphabet letter note names.
Next two lessons I’ll go over what we learned in the first lesson, I’ll talk more about the black keys forte and piano sounds, play more songs, clap rhythms, write Notespeller concepts like measures, rhythms and create compositions using the black keys. Review finger numbers that way and rhythms too
