Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn the first pickleball lesson, a beginner student can expect to learn the basic rules of the game, how to hold the paddle correctly, and how to serve and return the ball. The lesson will likely include a simple explanation of the court layout, scoring system, and key terms like the “kitchen” (non-volley zone). Students will also practice basic strokes, such as the forehand and backhand, and participate in fun drills to build hand-eye coordination. The focus will be on developing comfort with the game in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Youth players
Working with kidsIn a youth pickleball lesson, students can expect a fun and engaging introduction to the game. They will learn basic rules, how to hold the paddle, and simple techniques for hitting and serving the ball. The lesson will include age-appropriate drills and games to build coordination, teamwork, and confidence on the court. Emphasis is placed on having fun while developing fundamental skills in a supportive environment.
Working with teenagersA teenager in a pickleball lesson can expect a mix of skill development, physical activity, and fun. The lesson will likely cover the basics—rules, scoring, and court positioning—along with instruction on proper grip, strokes, serving, and footwork. Drills and mini-games will help build consistency, strategy, and coordination.
