Harrison is a great instructor. I would highly recommend him for any level.

I took pickleball lessons from Harrison after I took tennis lessons. However, Harrison’s lessons were 1 on 1 instead of in a group which, admittedly, put me way out of my comfort zone. It took around 3 lessons for me to get used to single instruction. I felt overwhelmed at first, but Harrison took his time and eased back and ran drills instead of going over the game plans. He helped me get more confident on the court and now I feel like I can plan with other beginners.

I booked lessons with Harrison to improve my court positioning and confidence coming up to the kitchen. I’m still getting there, but learning from him made me realize that dropping the ball rather than always driving is usually smarter. He pointed out my unorthodox technique, and instead of fixing it outright he told me the pros and cons to what I’m doing. He’s an understanding guy, and I’d suggest taking lessons from him if you feel like there’s a gap in your gameplay.

I started taking lessons with Harrison, as we play at the same court. We started off hitting aggressive dinks, and he showed me what a good dink was and what a bad one was. He insisted on running lots of drills and practicing consistency, and I’ve noticed that I’m much stronger at the kitchen than my friends! If you want a chill but intense coach, take some lessons with Harrison.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIf you’re just starting off, I’ll start off on game rules and what a pickleball point looks like. Focusing on the serve and dinking, we’ll also hit the ball together for you to get a feel of the game.
Lesson 11+These next lessons are up to you. You must ask yourself what you want to improve on and I’ll focus on the how. Anything from hands battles, all-out drives, or perfect drops, I’ll get you to the level you desire.
Lesson 4-10If you’re feeling confident with your basic pickleball mechanics, I’ll go over how the game is actually played and won. Using drills like the third shot drop and the speed, you’ll begin combining your skills with game strategy.
Lesson 2-3After our first lesson, we’ll keep going over the importance of a deep serve and low dinks. I’ll be reviewing your grip, posture, and footwork to best help you hit the ball.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonIf you’re advanced at this game, you already know what you want from a coach. We’ll be talking strategy and I’ll be making achievable goals on how you can make consistent growth.
Lesson 11+These ongoing lessons will be based on your passion to drill, lab out new techniques, and get advice on your game. If you feel like you’re in a roadblock, I’ll help you get out of it.
Lesson 4-10These lessons will all be about technique. I’ll be hyper critical of your practice to get you to your goals. I will be filming to show you immediately what you are doing well and what can be improved.
Lesson 2-3Going on with your goals, I’ll continue observing your progress and also monitoring if you have room for improvement in other areas.

Youth players
Working with kidsI’ve worked with kids and tweens quite a bit. The biggest factor I look out for is attitude. I believe in a firm yet encouraging approach, whether it’s young picklers or a more advanced one. Kids need to be encouraged and worked with their strengths more, and that is something I love doing!

Working with teenagersIt’s a privilege to work with teens because they almost always have a great amount of talent in the sport! I try to quickly find where their talent lies and base a game plan around it. Just like everyone else, I’ll be encouraging you a lot while also being a kind teacher.

What you need to bringNothing! Except for a can-do attitude and maybe some sunscreen

What I can bringI will bring multiple paddles, professional outdoor pickleballs, a full-length pickleball net, and instructional aides to help you!
