Week 1: Introduction to Pickleball & Basic Groundstrokes
**Objective: ** Familiarize students with pickleball rules, equipment, court layout, and introduce forehand and backhand groundstrokes.
Warm-Up (10 minutes)
· - Light jogging around the court.
· - Dynamic stretches focusing on shoulders, arms, and legs.
· - Paddle control drills: tapping the ball up and down on the paddle.
Introduction to Equipment and Court (10 minutes)
· - Explain paddle and ball characteristics.
· - Demonstrate proper grip techniques.
· - Discuss court dimensions, including the non-volley zone ('kitchen').
Basic Rules and Scoring (10 minutes)
· - Overview of serving rules, double bounce rule, and scoring system.
· - Use visual aids or diagrams to illustrate concepts.
Forehand and Backhand Groundstrokes (20 minutes)
