Beginner training plan
Your first lessonGetting Started The focus of the first lesson is to learn about Roundnet, learn about you, and have you learn about me. I want to make sure this relationship feels like the right fit for you and your goals. I will cover the basic elements of Roundnet, hot to play, and can adjust based on your current skill level.
Lesson 2-3Diving In Once we have learned more about your goals and what you’re hoping to gain from this, I will craft a specific lesson plan geared to your goals. This will include lots of drills you can work in solo or in a group to develop your game.
Lesson 4-10Keeping the Momentum Coaching happens all the time, not just when you’re on the net. As the weeks go on I would work with you to continue building habits that allow you to succeed and adding onto the foundational blocks we built in your lessons to continue evolving your game.

Youth players
Working with kidsAs a staff member for the youth spikers league I have a lot of experience working with kids 7-12. Our lessons focus much more on building endurance and athletic competencies through fun and play. Children learn to work as a team, focus on the joy of sports, and celebrate together.

Working with teenagersThe focus for teenagers is mostly mental from my experience. Social media is driving results, money, fame, and status to the youth, but sports is meant to be an outlet to develop yourself as a leader and teammate. To support each other and learn to win and lose with grace. The lessons focus on a lot of fundamentals that will make teens feel stronger, faster, and smarter. Whether they want to continue Roundnet or not, it can be a step on their journey they won’t regret.

What you need to bringWater bottle, athletic shoes, cleats, a good attitude.

What I can bringSpikeball Titan sets, Atlas balls, cones, measured lines, No Hit Zones, agility ladders, etc.

I started playing Roundnet as a complete beginner. Working with coach D for a few years at Stony Brook University has taught me so much and I improved so fast. I became a top 500 ranked national player in the US and was selected to compete for the Indian National team at the world championships this Fall in France!
Brian Sheridan

Dylan has always supported my Roundnet journey from helping teach me the fundamentals of setting and serving to driving me to countless tournaments and events. I would not be where I am today without his guidance.

I am a student on the SBU Roundnet team and coach D has taught me everything I know about the game. He works with me to help improve not just my physical game, but my understanding of what it takes to win and succeed.
