I start by assessing the playerβs level of ball control, passing ability, and motor coordination, since I am not familiar with the athlete yet.
warm-up focused on coordination and agility without the ball, including movement-based and coordination exercises.
Then I progress into basic ball work, focusing on control and dribbling. This includes simple zig-zag dribbling around cones to evaluate comfort with the ball.
After that, I introduce simple passing exercises and other fundamental technical drills.
These basic activities help me understand the playerβs current level more clearly.
After the first session, once I have a clear understanding of the playerβs motor and technical level, I follow a structured progression in the next sessions.
I continue working on coordination without the ball, focusing on agility, balance, and movement patterns to keep developing the playerβs physical foundation. After that, I progress into basic technical work with the ball, including ball control, passing, dribbling.
From the 4th to the 10th session, the player is already at a more advanced stage within the beginner level, which allows for a stronger focus on technical development.
During this phase, I continue working on coordination without the ball, focusing on agility, balance, and movement patterns, but with higher intensity and greater demand. Then I move into more detailed technical work with the ball, placing a strong emphasis on ball mastery, passing, dribbling, and control in different situations.
There is a lot of repetition and refinement of these technical fundamentals, always aiming to improve the playerβs quality and consistency. At the same time, I start to introduce finishing in a progressive way, with simple shooting exercises and basic goal-oriented actions.
I also begin to include slightly more challenging tasks that go beyond just controlling, passing, and dribbling, adding variations in space, timing, and decision-making, always respecting the playerβs level and development pace.
From the 11th session onward, and session by session, I need to continuously assess the playerβs level of progress and identify where I can further challenge them and where I need to place more emphasis. I have to constantly evaluate the athlete.
If the player is progressing, I continue to challenge them while maintaining technical training focused on ball control, passing, dribbling, finishing, and a basic understanding of the game.
There is also an introduction of more game understanding, but always within the playerβs technical level and age-appropriate development.
It is essential to never forget the playerβs age and technical level in every evaluation, making sure that all training decisions are aligned with their individual development stage.
