Hi, I’m Coach Joan Torres, a former high-level player in the Spanish league from ages 9 to 18 and a proud member of the Andorran national team from U9 to U21. I’m currently coaching at Barça Academy in Miami and pursuing an MBA in Sports Administration after playing collegiate soccer at William Penn and St. Thomas University. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn the first lesson with a beginner, I focus on building confidence through simple, fun exercises that assess basic skills like ball control and movement. This helps me understand their level and create a personalized plan moving forward.
Lesson 11+Beginners can expect progressive, personalized sessions that build strong fundamentals, improve confidence with the ball, and introduce game-like situations at their pace.
Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with kids, I adapt lessons to be fun, active, and engaging, using games, challenges, and clear instructions to keep them focused while developing key skills. I always match the intensity and content to their age and level.
Working with teenagersWhen working with teenagers, I adapt sessions to match their physical development, maturity, and competitive goals. I add more intensity, tactical awareness, and decision-making, while still keeping the environment positive, focused, and respectful to their individual pace.
What you need to bringJust show up ready to train, everything else is covered!
What I can bringI provide all the necessary training equipment for each session, including balls, small and large cones, agility rings (circles), and two small goals for finishing drills and game situations. I also bring additional materials to adapt to each player’s needs—whether it’s technical development, small-sided games, or speed and coordination work.
