Beginner training plan
Your first trainingFor this lesson I want to make the player feel comfortable and motivated, begin introducing basic ball control and movement, all the while keeping the session fun to promote long-term interest. The session would last about an hour, if player is young I would make it around 45 minutes. To begin the lesson I would introduce myself to both parent and player and gain insight about their experience playing and what they like about the sport. From there a warm-up is started incorporating a fun interactive drill to get the player engaged. After a warm up, the player will learn some skill moves through foot work such as toe taps, tik-toks, ball roles, and L moves. From there the player will take those learned skill moves to a dribbling drill and then transitioned to a basic passing drill. The final exercise for the session would be a shooting drill or mini game to promote confidence. After the session I like to end with a quick game I have learned that kids enjoy after training.
