Beginner training plan
Your first lessonCovering fundamentals to create an understanding of where their ability is and what needs to be worked on the most. All sessions with beginners will focus on fundamentals for the most part.
Lesson 11+As fundamentals improve, more of a focus on the details such as the difference between a ball in the air versus on the ground or how the player strikes the ball when shooting versus making a long pass.
Lesson 4-10Continuation of work on fundamentals but in a more game-relevant setting or situation.
Lesson 2-3More specialized drills that target specific fundamental actions that need the most work.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonSessions with Advanced players are more position-specific than those with beginners. We will continue fundamental work that is crucial for all players, but positionally important attributes such as speed, first touch, shooting, passing, and a variety of other skills may receive more focus with one player than another depending on their position.
Lesson 11+Additional lessons would continue to focus on those weaknesses but also serve as an opportunity to keep the player's skills sharp.
Lesson 4-10Following sessions would hammer down corrections and explore other weaknesses that are found in the process.
Lesson 2-3After identifying weaknesses in the first session, the next two sessions would Target those weaknesses broadly to help better understand what exactly the player can improve in that area.
Youth players
Working with kidsWorking with the kids is much more focused on what they enjoy and what makes them want to come back and play more. That being said, work with kids can also be focused in areas that they are less familiar with and I as a coach would encourage them to try new techniques and skills so that they not only enjoy the training but continue to develop as a player.
Working with teenagersThe skill level of the teenager would influence the session plans but they would generally target player weaknesses in addition to including activities that the player enjoys the most.
