About your softball coach

I played all positions but catcher in competitive softball for 10 years, including 8 years of travel softball and several seasons under an Olympic coach. I was a starting varsity player on a NC 4A team that finished 4th in state. I've coached both teams and individuals from beginners to high schoolers in pitching, hitting, infield, and outfield skills. While coaching, I focus on fundamentals and boost challenge and intensity with each athlete for their growth, confidence, and love for softball!

Your first lessonGet to know you and your goals, evaluate your current skills and mechanics and create a personalized development plan.
Lesson 2-3Build strong fundamentals in a few focus areas through drills and breaking down mechanics.
Lesson 4-10Review at-home progress, reinforce proper mechanics, and introduce new skills that advance game play. Use video analysis when necessary.
Lesson 11+Expand skills based on your progress with position-specific techniques, new pitches, hitting approaches, defensive situations, game strategy, and overall strength and conditioning.
Youth players
Working with kidsI focus on fundamentals. This helps prevent injuries and gives more opportunity for strength and other skill development as they grow. There is a lot to learn in fundamentals, and they are always good to practice at every age.
Working with teenagersAfter fundamentals are solid, I focus on power in hitting, fielding precision in different situations, and pitching power, mixing pitches, and accuracy.
What you need to bringBring your equipment, appropriate shoes for our location, and water. For advanced pitchers (high school and some middle school), I recommend bringing someone who will catch you so I can give you more attention.
What I can bringI will have balls and a tee. Bring your own if you have balls that you prefer to use.
