Your first lessonFor the first lesson, besides getting to know each other, I will do introduction based drills. I will use warm up time as a chance to talk and get to know each other (the parent as well if you’d like). Then I would go through basic drills based on what type of lessons you are looking for so I can understand what level of training to start with.
Lesson 2-3After the first session, I will base the next few sessions accordingly. I will take into account skill level, training needs and anything the client feels they want to work on. Lessons 2-3 will be basic- yet essential to the position.
Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with kids, I come to the lesson with an open mind, patience and understanding. I acknowledge the fact that children can be unpredictable, so I am able to adapt my lessons accordingly. I am experienced in working with children, so I am confident there is no task we can’t handle together.
Working with teenagersWhen working with teenagers, I come to the lesson with a plan in mind- but also willing to alter it depending on the needs of the teen. As teenagers progress into the sport, if there is anything specific they would like to work on to improve their confidence and performance, I am more than happy to make those changes. One of the biggest challenges softball players face is self confidence- so that’s what we will work on most!
