Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI first ask questions and get a feel for the students skill level and expectations of the lessons.
Lesson 11+Hopefully by now we are fine tuning our first stroke!
Lesson 4-10Usually by now I can start introducing new techniques and skills. This is all dependent on students skill level, and comfort level.
Lesson 2-3A lot of repetition. In this level breath control and kicking are very important. If you don't master them now it makes future learning difficult.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonSimilar to beginners. First thing is to ask questions about what the student is looking to get out of these lessons, and then assessing skill level.
Lesson 11+To be tired!
Lesson 4-10Usually by this point things will start moving faster. Learning new techniques or strokes. It is all dependent on skill level, bad habits that need to be fixed, expectations of students and ability to apply learned skills.
Lesson 2-3A lot of hard work. I like to push my advanced swimmers. If they are coming back to swimming, a lot of technique tweaking.
