With 30 years of experience on the court, I'm passionate about fostering a love for tennis in players of all levels. My approach blends technical expertise from my time as an experienced player with a fun, engaging teaching style that brings out the best in every student. Let's work together to elevate your game and unlock your full potential on the court. Throughout my lessons you will learn all of the technical fundamentals of how to play the game right. I focus on technique first to prevent injuries and to get the best out of your skill. Various drills will always be added because I believe repetition with the right technique is key. Having fun in doing so is always included so that you are getting the workout with thinking much about the pain of working out.

Andrew is truly a wonderful coach. His attention to details helps you progress. He does a great job studying ways to take you to the next level while maintaining a pace. I love the sessions where I do burpees when I don't hit my assigned target, since I don't like burpees, it forces my mind to do the right things the first time lol. I plan to continue working with Andrew as long as I'm in the DMV area! Book him if you want to learn tennis, want to take your game to the next level, and still have fun in the process!!!

Andrew is an awesome tennis instructor! His lessons are fun and super helpful. I had almost no experience with tennis at all when I started working with Andrew. He provided lots of guidance on technique for forehand, backhands, volleys and serves and fun drills to practice these skills. He is very observant and picks up on small tweaks in positioning that lead to big improvements.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFor the first lesson I began by covering all of the dimensions of the courts. I progress into giving a lot of knowledge of technique for holding the rackets with different grips, and swing the racket properly. Incorporating shadow swing is important. This allows the student to properly swing the racket without hitting the balls. Afterwards I began to add drills by doing a lot of drills as the student will hit the tennis ball but from a beginners standpoint.
Lesson 11+Students will begin to rally more often when we reach 11+ lessons. A lot of the rallies are done at a beginners level where we will hit up close but we will also begin to add other areas of tennis like serving and hitting volleys. Even though we're at this amount of lessons, techniques are always touched on as I like to analyze the student's ability.
Lesson 4-10Footwork and getting the whole body in more control is what students should expect. This is important because you want to make sure you're not limiting your form which could cause injuries and bad habits. Games are often added so that the lessons are fun and students are trained to use strategy and mental ability while playing
Lesson 2-3For the next two drills I'll recap all of the fundamentals that were previously taught. New fun drills are added as the student gets better with fundamentally doing all techniques correctly. At this stage students will often have challenges of breaking in good tennis habits band breaking off any bad habits.
What you need to bringYou'll only need to bring your tennis racket, and drinking water.
What I can bringI will bring the tennis balls, two extra rackets if you need one, cones, and tubes to pick the balls up with.
