Hi, I’m Ava Hrastar—a current professional tennis player and recent Division I college graduate(Auburn University) with about 15 years of experience on the court. Tennis has been a lifelong passion, and through years of training, competing, and growing as an athlete, I’ve developed not only my game but also a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed—both physically and mentally. I’m excited to share that passion and knowledge with others.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI like to gage general level of the student and go through each stroke.
Lesson 2-3-Drop feeding drills
-Simple technique suggestions
Lesson 4-10-Drop feeding mixed with hand feeding(if progressing)
- More specific technical work
- Footwork
Lesson 11+Rallying, drop feeding, hand feeding, footwork, strategy, etc.
All of these are dependent on progression, which varies person to person.
Youth players
Working with kidsI like to make drills engaging and fun. The age of the child is a huge factor in addition to their general understanding of the game, but making sure it’s fun while learning is important.
I definitely take a softer approach and utilize encouragement throughout my lessons. It’s extremely important to develop confidence in young players and let them know when they’ve done something good!
Working with teenagersWith teens, it’s easier to be more direct with instruction; however, it depends on the person and the player.
I’m very adaptable and flexible as a person. It’s easy for me to meet people where they are and coach each individual in a way that suits them.
