Beginner training plan

Your first lessonIn this lesson I will start by getting to know the player. I will do simple, forehand, and backhand hits with them to understand their skill level and what they know. I will talk briefly about each of the strokes to understand and try to gauge where their knowledge is so far. Once we have gone over their basic knowledge, I will typically start with for hands, some games in the first lesson, and just try to get to know my player.

How it works

Lesson 11+Once we make it to these lesson we will start working on specific strokes or techniques that are hard for my player to grasp. I don’t give up on any player no matter how hard it might be for them. It took me 4 years to understand how to use solid technique on my backhands. I don’t expect my players to ever reach perfection I hope that in these later lesson I can provide fun and confidence. I want my player to enjoy and love tennis the way I do. Yes they will be pushed and yes it will be hard, but my goal is to create a safe coaching space that is hardworking and fun.

Lesson 4-10My students can expect to pushed in these lesson but also can expect to play. I have drills that will challenge them physically, but I want to make sure that we get enough time to have fun along with working hard. Things they can expect to learn in these lessons are solid forehand and backhand technique, beginner serves, introduction to volleys, and how to play a full match.

Lesson 2-3In the second and third lesson I like to really target the big two strokes. Forehand and backhand. I will do a series of drills with them and help them form strong technique within their strokes. In the 2 I will drill forehand’s and backhands In the 3rd I will continue forehand and backhand in the beginning then I will introduce them to beginner serves and match play.

Youth players

Working with kidsI try to bring games into drills with prizes to keep them Interested in my lessons.

Working with teenagersI would love to work with teenagers. I will use prizes to keep them encouraged, and I will also make sure to always encourage them. I will never put them down in my lessons.

What you need to bringMy students will need to bring their personal racket and water!

What I can bringI am equipped with my own two basket of balls, drill set up cones, and extra rackets in case they’re forgotten!
