About Apex Pickleball Courts

Apex Pickleball Courts at Simms Street Rec Center offers 24 outdoor lighted concrete courts and 2 indoor courts. Free drop-in play available with reservations recommended April-Oct.

When to come
This is one of the busiest venues in the area. Weekday mornings and mid-afternoons are typically your best bet for an open court or a focused lesson.

Today was my second to last lesson . I booked ten lessons and it was the best decision for me. I started playing about 7 months ago with an old racquetball background. I never had formal beginners lesson , I just kind of jumped into it . My goal each game was to just get it over the net. I had no strategy, I had no idea where to stand during a game , knew nothing about third shot drop, respecting the x, the three rules of pickleball , you get it , I was lost. So I wasn’t truly enjoying playing but I liked the game because it involves a racquet and quick thinking like racquetball . I travel between Broomfield and Omaha so I checked into lessons into Omaha and couldn’t even find an instructor that had vast experience . . So I decided to check into Broomfield area and found Michelle. The expertise and knowledge she brings is so much more than I expected. What I love most about her is her teaching style . It’s positive , encouraging and most of all very very helpful . She developed a plan ahead of time before each session so each session was utilized to its fullest. She even stayed over a few times when I was struggling until I could end my lesson on a positive note . I have learned so much that I had no idea about . To find an instructor like Michelle was part luck but also because I researched . Her years of experience and vast knowledge is what drew me in. I now realize how lucky I am to have found someone as qualified and great as her. I feel comfortable , and not judged . I am saving my last lesson for when I return to Broomfield in a month . That way I can practice all the great things she has taught me. I am a work in progress but thanks to Michelle I am enjoying the game more and have a solid idea on where I need to be on the court . I could go on and on about the benefits of lessons from Michelle . I still have a long ways to go but now I am much more equipped to play a better game . She even helped me find a racquet that better suited me. Thank you Michelle from the bottom of my heart and see you in a month for my last lesson of this session 😁

I so enjoy my lessons with Michelle . Her teaching style puts me at ease . She always finds the positive in me when I am dragging myself down. Her years of experience really shows. She has given me so much knowledge and presented in a way it made sense to me. There is a lot to think about in pickleball . I was clueless at first by now have a sound base to help guide me . Today was my second lesson with Michelle H. and once again it was so helpful . I had two epiphanies today when she was instructing me . I was struggling with being out of position and running all over the court . Today I learned how not to do that and why I was doing it. I am so grateful I have Michelle as my pickleball instructor. In two short lessons I have learned so much. I am looking forward to my next lesson . This is the best decision I made to understand and learn pickleball . Today I worked on returning serves and getting up to the kitchen when I needed to. My brain was just not letting it sink in . So Michelle had me do it over and over until it truly sunk in.
