With over 17 years of piano experience and formal studies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, I bring a well-rounded musical background and a deep passion for creativity to my teaching. In addition to performing in bands and working on various studio projects, I am also an active composer whose work draws from a wide range of styles and influences. My knowledge spans classical, Broadway, jazz, pop, and Christian music, allowing me to connect with students across many musical interests. As a teacher, my approach is flexible, encouraging, and student-centered. I believe that piano study should reflect each individual’s goals and interests, so lessons are tailored to the techniques, repertoire, and musical understanding that matter most to each student. I bring over a decade of piano study and piano literature knowledge to the table: most recently I received my Bachelor’s degree in piano and will go on to do my Master’s. I am happy to give instruction and guidance and I hope to not just be an average teacher but more like a coach and a mentor to my students.
