Music is my lifelong passion, and for the past 4 years, I've been sharing that passion as an instructor. After graduating CU Boulder with a BA in Jazz Performance in 2021, I’ve been professionally performing and recording all kinds of styles: pop, rock, funk, jazz, blues, latin, folk - you name it! As a touring artist with Extra Gold and Eddie Turner & Trouble, I bring real-world experience to every lesson. With a strong background in classical and jazz theory, I offer expertise in being able to analyze and interpret most styles of music. Most of all - I always try to connect my students’ musical journey to an understanding of how they are connected to their community and the rich history of the world and its peoples.

I have 17 years of baseball experience, including pitching and playing outfield at the college level. During my career, I had the opportunity to learn from some incredible coaches who shaped the way I see the game. I worked with two former MLB hitting coaches, Tyler Holt and Brad Wilkerson, who taught me the details of hitting mechanics, approach, and preparation at a professional level. On the pitching side, I was coached by Tommy Boss, a former University of Florida standout, whose knowledge of the game and leadership on the mound helped me refine my pitching and understand the mental toughness it takes to compete. My background as a two-way player gives me a unique perspective that I now bring into coaching. I know the grind of balancing both sides of the game and the work it takes to succeed. My goal is to use that experience to help players develop their skills, grow their confidence, and maximize their potential both on and off the field.

Montana Sand is a group of multi-instrumentalists fronted by singer-songwriter AJ Montana Keyser. AJ is from Boulder, Colorado and has been playing professionally for over 8 years. They are 27 years old. The group draws their influence from a wide variety of genres, including but not limited to country, indie acoustic soul, folk, rock, bluegrass, and roots music; genres that have been the backbone to Denver’s music scene for decades. The group focuses on making music an inclusive space for all to be able to enjoy and relate to, as well as using music for mental health awareness. Montana Sand has been on line-ups for well known acts like Macklemore at Liv Golf Houston, Ryan Cassata at SXSW 2023, Janelle Monae at SXSW 2024, and Khruangbin/Sylvan Esso/Lord Huron 2025 at Outside Festival.

As a classically trained singer/songwriter, musical theater performer, and recording artist of 20 years, singing is my deepest passion and most authentic expression of self! For the past 16 years, I have found so much joy in sharing this vocal exploration and expression with students around the world! I absolutely adore working with vocal students (ages 12-96) helping them to find, cultivate and nurture their authentic voice! With my teaching I prioritize the health and longevity of the voice, building solid breath support, and using proper body mechanics to help support the instrument. I enjoy working with all voice types, genders, and levels from Broadway performers and recording artists to folks in their church choir, and pre-teens looking to develop their singing voice. In our sessions, we will engage in physical stretches/body openers, breathwork exercises, vocal agility games, and singing your favorite songs and styles of music. As a vocal coach, I strive to forge honest connections with my students. I consider it an important part of my role to help my students build confidence and self-esteem in their singing and in themselves! I am SO looking forward to working with YOU! "I'm a 96 year old man, but I'm here to say that you absolutely CAN teach an old dog new tricks! I started taking voice lessons with Shaina because I wanted to learn how to sing the high notes in "Amazing Grace" without squeaking. I thought I was a hopeless case, but boy, oh boy, Shaina worked with me so patiently, and helped me build my confidence and my breath support so that I could send those notes up to the rafters!!

I started playing organized basketball in second grade and got the opportunity to continue playing until my Junior year of college. I bring a lot of knowledge with skills training. As an undersized guard I had to learn ways to elevate my skill to make up for it. I believe a strong foundation fundamentals leads to success later on. I currently just graduated with my bachelors in exercise science and am applying to physical therapy school. I hope to use my background in sports performance and personal playing days to help athletes improve, gain confidence, and discipline. I also coach at Boulder High School as the head coach of the Freshman Boys team.
