My name is James Berry, I am a recent graduate of Roosevelt University. I have had the opportunity to play at various levels of collegiate baseball, including NCBA, NJCAA, NAIA, and NCAA Division II. I am a student of the game and in constant pursuit of learning more to help myself as well as others become better players. I have a strong work ethic, patience, and I am passionate about developing younger generations into confident and skillful ball players. Throughout my baseball career, I have learned under various different coaching strategies and styles which has all helped to shape my own approach to teaching/coaching. These have helped me learn effective ways to help motivate and support younger athletes. I enjoy focusing on teaching the correct fundamentals but also creating a positive and fun environment for people of all ages to learn and get better. My primary objective is to create better ballplayers in addition to creating good people. I was a varsity outfielder on Roosevelt’s baseball team. My dedication was recognized with honors such as Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) First Team All-Conference, GLIAC All-Tournament Team, and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) First Team All-Midwest, while helping lead my team in multiple offensive categories and setting school records.

With 17 years of playing experience and currently a senior catcher at Division I Norfolk State University, I bring a deep understanding of the game from behind the plate and at the plate. My passion for baseball extends beyond my own performance I’ve dedicated time to helping fellow catchers and hitters improve their skills, technique, and baseball IQ. Drawing on years of competitive experience and leadership, I focus on developing players with a strong foundation, attention to detail, and a love for the game.
