Hello, my name is David. I live in Las Vegas, NV, and before that lived in New York City, Mexico City, Cuba and Reno, NV where I played and taught music professionally. I received my Bachelor's degree in Jazz from the University of Nevada, Reno. I have played drum set since I was 5 years old, and Afro-Cuban percussion for 11 years. I teach drum set, snare drum, congas and other latin percussion. I teach many different genres, such as rock, jazz, funk, marching, Latin, and many more. In my lessons, you can expect a strong focus on fundamentals, technique and rudiments, balanced with learning to groove, interact and improvise within the style of music you want to perform. I love helping students with music they're learning for school bands, or come up with their own grooves for their own bands and music. With over three decades of baseball instruction experience, I have assisted in paving the way for many of my former players to earn baseball college scholarships. Music is my language, and through the piano, I've spent 11 years helping playing and honing my craft. I am currently in college to work for my degree in music, while minoring in piano, voice, and audio engineering. I can teach anywhere, whether it is me coming to you or you coming to me!
