I received my Bachelor's degree in Jazz from the University of Nevada, Reno. I have played drum set since I was 5 years old, and Afro-Cuban percussion for 11 years. I teach drum set, snare drum, congas and other latin percussion. I teach many different genres, such as rock, jazz, funk, marching, Latin, and many more. Notably, Mel is a dedicated music instructor, believing that music is the language of his soul. Inspired by this fulfillment, he founded the Rhythm and Beat music studio in 1994.
