A former touring professional, Joey rose to world No. 4 as a junior, captured the NCAA Indoor Championship as a freshman, and earned the No. 1 collegiate ranking before moving into coaching. Drawing on that elite playing background and years on the pro circuit, Joey has helped develop eight players who went on to hold U.S. No. 1 rankings. His coaching philosophy blends high-performance technique, tactical intelligence, physical preparation, and mental toughness. Joey designs individualized training plans for juniors, college hopefuls, and competitive adults — including match strategy, live-ball play, conditioning, and college-recruiting guidance informed by real-world success.

The students I teach learn and improve. I have been teaching many students for over 15 years. They went from beginners to league players. I work with all levels of players from beginner to advanced, kids or adults. Tennis is a sport for life. I enjoy the process of someone learning or improving their skill level while enjoying the sport of tennis. I have been teaching tennis for over 30 years. I coached at the college level and presently coach at the High School level. I played in college. I am certified by the PTR, at the Professional level.
