I’ve been a working musician and instructor for over 25 years, teaching guitar, bass, piano, and music theory across a wide range of styles. While I specialize in Gypsy Jazz and advanced jazz theory, I’m also fluent in the genres most students want to learn — from blues, rock, R&B, and neo-soul to gospel, worship, and modern Christian music. For guitar, I teach everything from improvisation and theory to authentic Gypsy picking technique. On bass, I focus especially on gospel and pocket playing, building solid groove and feel. On piano, I cover jazz harmony, gospel voicings (including four-way close / locked hands), and neo-soul textures. I help students bridge the gap between theory and sound — learning how to express what they hear in their heads, not just memorize shapes or scales. Whether you read standard notation or just tab, I break things down in a way that makes sense and connects directly to the music you want to play. Beyond technical skill, I teach from experience — through years of real struggle, personal transformation, and the realization that music can be a true form of freedom. I’m here to help you grow not just as a player, but as an artist

With over five decades immersed in the world of piano, I cultivate a passion for music in each student. As a former symphony conductor, and educator, I can bring a wealth of experience, joy and fun to anybody that is learning or relearning the piano. From early beginning methods and short songs ( which I can help make fun!) to Beethoven or Billy Joel. I’ll help give you the tools to make the music, and even improvise within it. Young or old. Beginner or advanced.
"I found David after my piano teacher moved. I saw his bio and thought I could get his coaching for my regional competition. His expertise was on from the first session. He really knew how to teach and I did great in the competition and made the finals,
