Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Coach Bryan Hughes is a product of Philadelphia’s parks and recreational programs. His 30+ years of teaching include 6 NJCAA National Titles coaching with Tyler Junior College, including 6 individual Rolex National Champions. He has directed community and country club programs in Florida and Texas and started Jedi Tennis LLC, here in Philadelphia, in 2008, as well as The South Philadelphia Tennis Association in 2010. Certified Premier Provider for the USTA as well as Middle States Committee Member, The SPTA was The USTA Middle States Section "Community Tennis Association of the Year." TJC Tennis Tech Graduate and Instructor, Also Coached USTA National Champions in Juniors, Adult Singles, Doubles and Team, Texas State High School Singles, Doubles, and Team Champions. Coach Bio: With over 17 years of playing experience on both the national and international pro circuits, I bring a wealth of competitive knowledge and passion to the court. I proudly represented my country for 7 years on the Davis Cup team, consistently ranked as National No. 2 in singles and doubles for many years. As a coach, I specialize in developing players of all levels—from beginners to advanced juniors. My approach focuses on building strong fundamentals, teaching the right technique, and helping each child maximize their potential through a personalized and motivating coaching style. Whether your child is picking up a racquet for the first time or preparing for high-level competition, I’m committed to helping them succeed and enjoy the journey.
