I specialized in heavy music for a long time but I am fluent in all genres of music as well,including folk,jazz, classical,rock, blues,funk,punk rock,new wave,pop,ska,hardcore,swing,avant garde,progressive,technical, contemporary,ambient,hip hop and experimental. I enjoy teaching everything from scales,chords, rhythm,melody,phrasing, transition,picking,finger placement,fretboard memory,fast runs,chord groups,major,minor, pentatonic,mixolydian,aeolian,diminished,phrygian,locrian,Dorian,and many more. I also like to focus on figuring out composition by ear,for example learning your favorite artists songs and development of your own styles while drawing from your influence or whatever you are wanting to play. Whether you are a beginner or advanced I will work at your pace. I can give you the tools to becoming a better musician and playing to your full potential.

I've been a professional touring bassist and educator for 20 years. I'm a doubler both electric and upright. I have a B.M. in Music education from VCU in Richmond, VA. (Don't make a joke about your degree being a "BM") If you're still here, I'm also a guitarist and have taught strings and brass. I've taught privately and classroom settings both in-person and remotely. I bring my experiences as a performing artist and educator to guide students of all ages and levels. Jada Taylor is a passionate and accomplished volleyball coach with over 16 years of competitive playing experience and a strong foundation in player development, leadership, and mentorship. A Chicago native who grew up in the Austin area, Jada was immersed in volleyball from an early age, playing multiple positions before specializing as a Libero. Her coaching journey began early through volunteering at camps and clinics, continuing into college where she served as a player-coach and mentor to younger athletes. As a collegiate athlete, Jada earned a full scholarship to Grambling State University, where she became one of the top defensive players in the SWAC—leading the conference in digs for two consecutive years, earning SWAC Libero of the Year, First-Team All-SWAC, and All-Tournament honors, and ranking 24th nationally in digs in 2022. She transferred her playing career at Florida A&M University, where she was named Preseason Libero of the Year and helped lead the team to a SWAC Championship and an NCAA Division I Tournament appearance. Following her playing career, Jada served as Varsity Assistant Coach at FAMU DRS (2022–2024), contributing to practice design, individualized training, and team culture—cementing her reputation as both an elite defender and an impactful coach dedicated to developing the next generation of athletes.
