I am a former college athlete and grade school teacher. I began playing pickleball 6 years ago. My passion for pickleball and teaching led me to become a pickleball instructor. I love playing and I have found that I love teaching pickleball the same! I am certified through IPTPA as an instructor and have been actively teaching beginner to advanced intermediate level pickleball for 2 years. I am currently working in Houston with an amazing pickleball pro! Whether you are just interested in learning how to play or wanting to develop your skills to take your game to the next level, I would love to help you with your goals and have a great time in the process.

I’ve spent over twenty years studying and teaching the true mechanics behind a powerful golf swing. My coaching goes far beyond “copy this angle” or “hold the club like that.” I help golfers understand where power comes from, how speed is created, how rhythm is controlled, and how to remain mentally steady under pressure. My approach blends psychology, physiology, and physical mechanics with the principles of Taichi and meditation. This fusion helps players move with clarity, relax unnecessary tension, and generate natural, efficient power. My writing on this philosophy has also been featured in Golf Digest. Every golfer is built differently—different height, body shape, flexibility, rotation speed—so every swing I teach is uniquely tailored. I focus on giving players the tools to self-adjust and self-improve, instead of relying on rigid, mechanical “positions” that only work when perfectly copied. If you want to truly understand your swing—not just imitate one—I can help you rebuild your game from the inside out. (I also hold certifications with US Kids Golf and the Positive Coaching Alliance.)

My name is Roberto. I was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica, and I came to the United States nine years ago to play college tennis. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University (nation's top 10 NCAA Division II school) with a B.A. in Business Management and served as the team's captain on my last semester. I have also coached beginner and intermediate tennis players of all ages in Costa Rica as well as several collegiate dual matches. Regarding my playing history, I have played tournaments in over 10 countries, obtained a junior international ranking, and reached a ranking of #8 in Costa Rica. As of this year, I started coaching pickleball and the experience has been no different! Concepts are very similar and time to raise level is actually shorter!
