"The lesson with Daryl focused quite a bit on shooting drills, which really helped me refine my technique. Though reviewing what I’m working on can sometimes feel repetitive, I still appreciated the emphasis on solid fundamentals. Still, I think going over progress more frequently might make the lessons even more effective. But yeah, I’d say try Daryl if you want structured training that pays attention to detail.

My coaching style blends technical expertise with a fun, supportive environment that fosters growth and a true love of the game. I will tailor a training program that will improve the skills that need the most improvement. I have years of experience playing basketball since I was a child throughout high school and intramurally in college. I have been a basketball trainer for about 4 years as I have taken on clients who want to improve in forest hills league from an Asian community as well as any players who would like to improve. I specialize in plyometric training exercises that improve vertical jumping, speed and quickness. I focus on good diet, recovery, consistency, and fundamentals with all of my basketball training clients. I train first in fundamentals, then moving on to simulate in-game situations, and finally scrimmages or pickup games. With over 20 years of experience as both a player and coach, I specialize in developing young athletes through focused training in ball handling, conditioning, and overall basketball IQ. I work with players ranging from ages 6 through high school, helping them build a strong foundation, sharpen their skills, and grow their confidence on and off the court. I played college basketball at Durham College and have further developed my training expertise through hands-on experience with Delson Training in New Jersey—one of the top programs for elite player development. My approach is simple: I love the game and I love helping kids get better. I’m easygoing, positive, and passionate—but I also push players to work hard, stay disciplined, and maximize their potential. Whether your child is just starting out or aiming for the next level, my goal is to guide them through that journey—step by step—with energy, focus, and fun.
