Hello, my name is David. I live in Las Vegas, NV, and before that lived in New York City, Mexico City, Cuba and Reno, NV where I played and taught music professionally. I received my Bachelor's degree in Jazz from the University of Nevada, Reno. I have played drum set since I was 5 years old, and Afro-Cuban percussion for 11 years. I teach drum set, snare drum, congas and other latin percussion. I teach many different genres, such as rock, jazz, funk, marching, Latin, and many more. In my lessons, you can expect a strong focus on fundamentals, technique and rudiments, balanced with learning to groove, interact and improvise within the style of music you want to perform. I love helping students with music they're learning for school bands, or come up with their own grooves for their own bands and music.
