Hello. My name is Jennifer and I have been teaching English as a second language for over 5 years. I love helping my students reach their language goals. As a language learner myself, I know the struggle and the ups and downs that come with speaking a new language. With new learners, I speak slowly and clearly to make conversation as easy as possible. I have taught students from the age of 4 to adults. Come learn with me. You will have fun!

I’m currently in school to get my single subject teaching credential in English. I have experience teaching children and young adults.

I have worked with many students throughout the last couple years ranging from 1st to 10th grade. I worked with multiple students both in classes and outside. Above all, I worked with students who were learning English as their second language.

Over 20 years tutoring experience grades K -12 and college levels. Have worked as substitute teacher for 5 years using teacher or student centered methods. Also I teach reading ,essay writing test prep , and academic research. I have worked with both autistic students as well as those requiring additional intervention. Finally, I possess a BA & MA in English.,

I am a Special Education teacher with a masters degree in Special Education and an English 6-12 t12 endorsement. I earned my education and teaching credentials in Virginia and have my credentials in California as well. I’ve worked with students across K through 12 settings, with the majority of my experience at the high school level. Throughout my career, I have taught self-contained and inclusive classrooms, including teaching my own self-contained English class for grades 9- 12 and collaborating in general education English and History classrooms. I am passionate about creating engaging, interactive lessons that meet students where they are and connect learning to their interest and strengths. My teaching philosophy is centered on building strong relationships with students and families. I believe that when educator’s parents and students work together as a team, students are empowered to achieve their greatest potential. I am known for my strong communication skills and commitment to keeping families informed and involved on their child’s progress. I’ve been honored to receive teacher of the month three times and the Capes for Coaches award for utilizing creative technology and innovative instruction practices in the classroom. I also led my schools STEAM Day initiative for three consecutive years, coordinating cross curricular learning experience that engaged students and staff alike. In addition to supporting students, I am passionate about supporting fellow educators. I served as a mentor teacher for student teacher, providing guidance, coaching, and encouragement as they entered the profession. I love working, supporting and teaching any one of no matter the age. My goal is to create a positive, inclusive learning environment, where students feel valued, supported, and excited to learn. I believe that when students enjoy learning and feel connected to their education, they gained the confidence and skills needed to succeed in both school and beyond.
