What students say...

"Before this, I’d just hit balls and hope for the best. One lesson in, I understood my mistake, why it happened, and how to fix it. Terence broke down my swing in simple terms, gave me drills I could actually do at the range, and helped me see progress fast. I’m already booked for another lesson.

About Daniel

I grew up playing golf in Phoenix, AZ and went on to play Division I golf at the University of Wyoming, where I accomplished my goal of winning a collegiate tournament. My favorite part of golf has always been understanding how people get better—from the mechanics of the golf swing, practice methodologies, and the psychology behind the way we think and therefore swing. Since graduating, I’ve dedicated my career to coaching players of all ages with the mission of helping them unlock their potential in golf. I’ve run an elite junior academy at Bear Creek Golf Club in California under the guidance of top-ranked coaches Chris Walkey and Tony Greco, as well as physical therapist Dr. Mike Kay, and later became a key part of Perfect Circle Golf under the mentorship of Blake Isakson. I am also TPI Golf and Fitness Certified, providing me with a deeper understanding of how the body moves and organizes itself. My teaching philosophy is centered on educating and empowering students with a deep understanding of the fundamentals—grip, setup, balance, impact, and finishing position—and how critical and often overlooked they are. These essential pieces have downstream effects on every part of the golf swing. While at the University of Wyoming, I earned an engineering degree, which allows me to understand the biomechanics of the golf swing and body. While I respect the principles defined in The Golfing Machine, I believe we must always start by ensuring the fundamentals are understood, proper, and matched up to your body. I believe improvement only happens when players not only know what to practice, but also how to practice effectively. That’s why I provide drills, games, and feedback tools designed to give you clear markers for whether you’re accomplishing what you want during your training sessions. This way, you can build confidence and learn to coach yourself during your own practice time. I equip my students with a plan that can be accomplished from the comfort of home or outside, making improvement easier and more accessible. I believe that playing the golf of your dreams—or having the swing of your dreams—is equal parts mental and physical. Drawing from the principles of Karl Morris’ MindCaddie and the Vision 54 framework, I integrate mental performance training into my coaching so students learn not only to swing better but also to think, focus, and react better on and off the course. Success in golf comes from aligning your technical skills, your body’s capabilities, and your mental approach—while always keeping enjoyment at the center of the journey. Whether you’re a beginner, a competitive junior, or an adult player looking to lower your scores, my goal is to provide world-class instruction tailored to your goals. Above all, I bring energy, passion, and clarity to every lesson. My mission is to create an elite yet enjoyable learning environment where every student can reach their potential, play their best golf, and truly enjoy the game.

Why take golf lessons in Phoenix?

Phoenix has more practical golf days than almost any major US market. Outdoor lessons run comfortably from October through May, and even peak summer (June through August) supports productive early-morning slots before 9am. The Valley's mix of desert public courses (Aguila, Encanto), upscale resort layouts (Arizona Biltmore, Pointe Tapatio), and indoor simulator studios means coaching can continue year-round without weather gaps. The active roster spans long-tenured instructors with decades of teaching experience and competitive players with strong amateur backgrounds, including a coach with 37 years of playing experience and a certified professional instructor with 11 years of formal teaching. Indoor venues like Rob's Golf Studio and Chapel Golf Club extend coaching options into the 110-degree summer afternoons when outdoor work is impractical, with launch-monitor data covering the swing-mechanic detail that range work alone can't capture. Most Phoenix learners can find a coach within 20 minutes of home, with simulator backup for the hottest weeks of summer.

Arizona Biltmore Golf Club – golf course in Phoenix

Arizona Biltmore Golf Club

Historic 36-hole resort facility in the Biltmore corridor, well known across the Valley. The Adobe and Links courses both support full-length playing lessons, and the practice facilities (driving range, short-game area, practice green) make it a strong venue for both range work and on-course coaching.

Encanto Park Clubhouse – golf course in Phoenix

Encanto Park Clubhouse

Central Phoenix's primary municipal facility with 27 holes (18-hole regulation plus 9-hole executive). The shorter executive course is ideal for beginners working through their first on-course lessons, and the regulation 18 supports intermediate playing lessons at an accessible price point.

The Pointe Tapatio Cliffs – golf course in Phoenix

The Pointe Tapatio Cliffs

Resort layout in north Phoenix with elevation changes that test approach shots and course management. Useful for intermediate and advanced students who want to practice uneven lies, downhill putts, and decision-making on a more demanding routing than flat municipal courses.

Aguila Golf Course – golf course in Phoenix

Aguila Golf Course

Highly rated public course in southwest Phoenix with three 9-hole layouts (Eagle, Hawk, Talon) that combine for full 18-hole rounds. Strong choice for intermediate students who want a quality desert layout without resort pricing, and a common venue for weekend playing lessons.

Rob's Golf Studio – golf course in Phoenix

"Mike is a college friend that couldn't hit a ball to save his life. Not much physical coordination but he was consistent on his practice. We went from not being able to break 100 to shooting 79 in 1 year! Mike enjoys shooting 80s rounds with ease now, his bad rounds might be a..."

Find a golf coach for your goal

  • High-volume committed learners

Phoenix's climate supports near year-round outdoor practice, which rewards players who want to take many lessons in a 12-month window. The right coach here can take a beginner to a sub-90 score within a single calendar year.

What to look for: A coach with 100-plus reviews and a long teaching history, plus reviews from students who took multi-month lesson blocks rather than only one-off sessions.

    Try Robert M.
  • Junior players and families

The Valley has strong junior infrastructure, including First Tee chapters and accessible municipal layouts. Coaches with junior-development backgrounds work well for ages 8 to 17 with age-appropriate session lengths and modified clubs.

What to look for: First Tee or junior-program teaching history, willingness to teach at Encanto Park (beginner-friendly executive layout), and reviews from parents specifically.

    Try Deonte B.
  • Summer-resilient learners

Phoenix summers (June through August) limit outdoor lessons to before 9am. Players who want to keep momentum through summer should pick a coach who teaches at an indoor simulator studio in the afternoons.

What to look for: Coach availability at Rob's Golf Studio or Chapel Golf Club for indoor work, plus comfort with launch-monitor data and swing-mechanic analysis off real ball flight.

    Try Cliff K.
