In the 22 years of my golf career, I was able to win 2 collegiate events while representing the UCLA Golf Team (Setting the UCLA record at Chambers Bay (Shooting 62) and winning one event as a professional golfer in 2021. Now, I play as +5 handicap on the course! I am currently teaching any golfers all the way from beginners to scratch golfers. I was once a beginner when I was young starting out and I also was in a stage of shooting in 80s consistently and had to learn how to break the ice to shoot under par. I would love to share this crazy golf journey with you and help you get to whatever goals you set for the year! Golf is a challenging sport, but I am here to simplify the game and build strong fundamentals. I will be on the golf journey with you so let's connect!!!

About Heath

Passionate golfer, Three time Club Champion at Crooked Tree Golf Club. I enjoy the journey of improvement and sharing the fun of the game with others. Let's tee it up and work towards your golf goals together!

What students say...

"Whether you are brand new to golf, someone who is actively looking to lower your handicap, or maybe someone who is stuck in a rut mentally, Heath will meet you where you’re at. He’s got a knack for identifying solutions, and communicating effectively no matter who he’s working with. Heath helped me go from a 20+ handicap down to a 12. A few months ago, I hit a mental hurdle and had two of the worst rounds Ive had in years. Thinking I forgot how to play, I reached out to Heath for advice. Not only did he give me some sound advice/drills to focus on when at the range, but he helped me restore confidence in myself for the next time I hit the course. I came out the next round and bounced back with a low 80’s score at one of the hardest courses I’ve ever played. This is what Heath does. He’s married to the game of golf and he’s a natural when it comes to coaching it. If you live in Arizona and you’re looking for lessons, I couldn’t recommend Heath highly enough.

About Daniel

I grew up playing golf in Phoenix, AZ and went on to play Division I golf at the University of Wyoming, where I accomplished my goal of winning a collegiate tournament. My favorite part of golf has always been understanding how people get better—from the mechanics of the golf swing, practice methodologies, and the psychology behind the way we think and therefore swing. Since graduating, I’ve dedicated my career to coaching players of all ages with the mission of helping them unlock their potential in golf. I’ve run an elite junior academy at Bear Creek Golf Club in California under the guidance of top-ranked coaches Chris Walkey and Tony Greco, as well as physical therapist Dr. Mike Kay, and later became a key part of Perfect Circle Golf under the mentorship of Blake Isakson. I am also TPI Golf and Fitness Certified, providing me with a deeper understanding of how the body moves and organizes itself. My teaching philosophy is centered on educating and empowering students with a deep understanding of the fundamentals—grip, setup, balance, impact, and finishing position—and how critical and often overlooked they are. These essential pieces have downstream effects on every part of the golf swing. While at the University of Wyoming, I earned an engineering degree, which allows me to understand the biomechanics of the golf swing and body. While I respect the principles defined in The Golfing Machine, I believe we must always start by ensuring the fundamentals are understood, proper, and matched up to your body. I believe improvement only happens when players not only know what to practice, but also how to practice effectively. That’s why I provide drills, games, and feedback tools designed to give you clear markers for whether you’re accomplishing what you want during your training sessions. This way, you can build confidence and learn to coach yourself during your own practice time. I equip my students with a plan that can be accomplished from the comfort of home or outside, making improvement easier and more accessible. I believe that playing the golf of your dreams—or having the swing of your dreams—is equal parts mental and physical. Drawing from the principles of Karl Morris’ MindCaddie and the Vision 54 framework, I integrate mental performance training into my coaching so students learn not only to swing better but also to think, focus, and react better on and off the course. Success in golf comes from aligning your technical skills, your body’s capabilities, and your mental approach—while always keeping enjoyment at the center of the journey. Whether you’re a beginner, a competitive junior, or an adult player looking to lower your scores, my goal is to provide world-class instruction tailored to your goals. Above all, I bring energy, passion, and clarity to every lesson. My mission is to create an elite yet enjoyable learning environment where every student can reach their potential, play their best golf, and truly enjoy the game.

Why take golf lessons in Scottsdale?

Scottsdale's desert climate supports outdoor lessons close to 320 days a year, and even peak summer (June through August) supports productive pre-9am morning slots. The market depth is unusual: 8 active coaches, multiple resort-quality courses within a 15-minute drive of each other, and an indoor simulator venue (Loft Golf Studios) that covers the summer-afternoon and winter-evening gaps. The roster includes a former D1 athlete, a coach with both a golf-course-management associate degree and a Master's in Public Administration, and a 1-handicap player with 25-plus years of competitive experience. Several coaches teach across both Phoenix and Scottsdale, so students who travel between the two cities for work can keep the same coach. Most Scottsdale learners can find a coach within 10 minutes of home.

Orange Tree Golf Resort – golf course in Scottsdale

Orange Tree Golf Resort

A resort-style 18-hole course in central Scottsdale with full practice facilities (driving range, short-game area, putting green). One of the more accessible resort venues in the city and a strong choice for both beginner playing lessons and intermediate course-management work.

Stonecreek Golf Club – golf course in Scottsdale

Stonecreek Golf Club

An 18-hole course in north Scottsdale with a quality public-access reputation. Useful for intermediate and advanced students who want to practice on a layout that demands real course management, including elevation changes and strategically placed hazards.

Continental Golf Course – golf course in Scottsdale

Continental Golf Course

A par-65 executive layout in south Scottsdale, ideal for beginner on-course transitions and short-game-focused playing lessons. The shorter routing keeps round times under 3 hours, which works well for after-work lessons and quick playing assessments with a coach.

Coronado Golf Course and Lighted Driving Range – golf course in Scottsdale

Coronado Golf Course and Lighted Driving Range

Public 9-hole course with a lighted driving range, which is unusually useful for evening lessons during summer when daytime temperatures are extreme. The lighted range extends practical practice hours into the night, and the 9-hole layout supports short on-course lessons.

Loft Golf Studios – golf course in Scottsdale

Find a golf coach for your goal

  • First-time learners and nervous beginners

Scottsdale has an unusual concentration of warm, confidence-building coaches who specialize in players intimidated by traditional country-club golf culture. The right coach here can take a complete beginner from never-held-a-club to enjoying nine holes within a small block of lessons.

What to look for: Reviews from spouses, partners, and first-time learners specifically. High patience-mentioned review count and a willingness to teach at beginner-friendly venues like Continental or Coronado.

    Try Rita R.
  • Single-digit handicap and tournament-focused players

Scottsdale's depth of resort-quality courses and competitive-tier coaches makes it one of the best US markets for advanced students. Multiple coaches have D1 or 1-handicap playing backgrounds, which matters when the goal is tournament prep rather than casual improvement.

What to look for: D1 college athlete or low-handicap (sub-3) playing background, comfort teaching at Stonecreek or Orange Tree, and reviews from advanced students working on specific scoring goals.

    Try Mike P.
  • Cross-city committed students (Phoenix + Scottsdale)

Several coaches teach across the broader Valley, including both Phoenix and Scottsdale venues. Useful for working professionals who split time between the two cities and want to keep the same coach for consistency.

What to look for: Multi-venue listings spanning both Phoenix and Scottsdale, high review volume (100-plus reviews indicates the coach has scaled), and willingness to teach at both indoor (Loft Golf Studios) and outdoor venues.
