My journey with the guitar began at 8, launching into private lessons soon after. Auditioning for and attending the Orange County School of the Arts Guitar program from 7th to 12th grade expanded my musical horizons, training me in classical, flamenco, jazz, and studio engineering using Logic Pro X and Protools. Beyond school performances at renowned venues like Disneyland, House of Blues, and jazz festivals, I delved into the LA punk scene and various local gigs. With four years of teaching experience at Guitar Center, I've instructed students of all ages and levels, embracing diverse styles and adapting to group dynamics. Teaching extends beyond the norm for me; I've worked with children and adults with special needs, aiming to make music accessible and enjoyable for everyone. With a passion for playing and teaching, music has been a constant and significant part of my life, shaping my journey into a harmonious blend of artistic exploration and education.

I am a dedicated private music instructor with 5 years of professional experience and 38 years of playing experience, teaching students of all ages and skill levels. I specialize in teaching Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, and beginning Piano and Bass. I sight read, teach basic Music Theory and I also teach basic recording using with Garageband. I focus is on building strong musical foundations while nurturing each student's unique voice. Whether preparing for a performance or just learning chords, I tailor each lesson individually to inspire confidence, creativity and a lifelong love of music. Qualifications: 40 years experience as a professional guitar guitarist, vocalist, instrumentalist performing music publicly in both solo and group settings. Group performances include 50s and 60s rock, swing, big band, country, jazz, blues, and folk. I play and teach electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, lap, steel, ukulele, banjo, and bass guitar. Bands: Ronnie and the Classics: 50s and 60s music playing a celebrity parties, charity events, concerts, auto shows, and theme parks Boomer McLennan: Country music, playing concerts, such as Country Thunder,clubs in the LA area, fairs, including Del Mar Fairgrounds and Orange County fair. "I've been taking guitar lessons with Glenn for 2–3 years now, and I recommend him to every friend or colleague who wants to learn guitar (or bass or ukulele) or improve their playing. Glenn has a library of songs tabbed out; once he gets a general sense of where you are in your progress with the guitar, he can suggest dozens of songs in each of several genres--rock, jazz, blues, pop, etc.--that are appropriate for your level. He works with you until you are comfortable playing that song and it's time to move on to a new song, slowly increasing in difficulty as your skill develops. This approach has helped me to slowly, but steadily, develop my skills while playing songs I enjoy. If you want to stick with a pick, stick with finger style, or develop both skills, Glenn can help you improve. If you want to read tabs or read standard notation, Glenn can work with you on either. He mixes in some theory along the way, but not so much that it gets in the way of the fun of playing the guitar. I'm a middle-aged guy, but if you are looking for a guitar teacher for your child, my impression is that he is a great teacher for children and teenagers as well. He is friendly and patient, important traits in a guitar teacher!

My journey as a professional musician ignited my passion for teaching guitar. For 25 years, I've guided aspiring guitarists, sharing my knowledge and experience to help them reach their full potential. Some of my students have gone on to be professional working musicians and landed gigs with Ziggy Marley, Gwen Stefani and many more. I will help you unlock your musical intution/creativity and give you creative ways to practice and learn songs , solos etc . I will also teach you ways to track your progress. I believe playing and learning music should be fun, and I make it easier on you to understand certain concepts from a technical, theoretical and practical point of view. I accept beginner to advanced. I can tailor lessons to your needs , the style you want to play, and I can create assignments to help you reach your goals from a professional working musician's perspective. You will find just after a short period how much you can improve your skills and feel the confidence to continue to your goal. My teaching experiences have taken me through schools , clinics at music stores and workshops. I also coach bands , teach beginner to intermediate bass , and music production one on one or group. A little about my work as a musician : Over the years, I toured, recorded and played with numerous bands and artists such as, Carly Simon, Ben Taylor, Mike Keneally, Bryan Beller, Armande Sabel-Leco, Paul Barrere, Kenny Gradney and Bill Payne, Pato Banton, Brendon Small's Galaktikon, Bird York, Janet Robin, Gwen Stefani, Eve, The Roots and more ! I also have theatrical show experience with numerous plays and with Cirque Du Soliel's 'Totem' , ' Corteo' and 'Zarkana'. All these experiences have contributed to the variety of styles in my arsenal that I play and teach.
