Hi! My name is Ryan, and I'm a musician and guitar teacher from NYC. I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 2019 with a B.A. in Music. I have been teaching music for 10 years at all levels in a wide variety of settings. I want to help you learn the music you want to play, and give you the skills you need to become your own lifelong teacher! Together, we will create a customized curriculum informed by your musical goals and my decade of teaching experience. I teach a variety of styles and genres, including (but not limited to) rock, pop, jazz, blues, funk, R&B, soul, jazz fusion, folk, bluegrass, and hip hop. I teach encouraging lessons with curriculum drawn from my students specific musical interests, and with a focus on exploration, goal setting, and cultivating each students unique relationship with their instrument and musical selves. In-person lessons are for NYC area residents only.

For 15 years, I have been studying, playing and performing guitar, all around the world! I have toured and gigged professionally at a multitude of venues and festivals. I was educated at Berklee College of Music and blend a thorough grounding in music theory and concepts with real-world experience playing in bands, as a front-person and as a supporting guitarist live and in the studio! I started out in 1986 by playing in high school and learning theory and jamming in a jazz improvisation class. Then I moved on to playing in various bands over the years playing metal, punk, and even blues. In 2016, I enrolled at NJCU and stared taking classical guitar lessons as well as taking music education courses as I graduated in 2020 with a degree in Music

I’ve played very successful shows and generated money for large CUNY funded disaster relief shows and played local shows for many metal bands. I can teach you more than just playing guitar I can show you how to maintain it and record your art into the real world. CUNY certified audio. Engineering experience. Pro tools is my main recording DAW of choice.

Hi, I’m Nicholas. I play and teach fingerstyle guitar. Some say it’s the most challenging method of playing the instrument, but I say it’s the most worth learning. I can learn songs quickly, so if there’s a song you’d like to know, I could teach that, too. My goal is to teach aspiring guitar players the ability to sound how they’d want to sound on the instrument.
