Hi! My name is Ryan, and I'm a musician and guitar teacher from NYC. I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 2019 with a B.A. in Music. I have been teaching music for 10 years at all levels in a wide variety of settings. I want to help you learn the music you want to play, and give you the skills you need to become your own lifelong teacher! Together, we will create a customized curriculum informed by your musical goals and my decade of teaching experience. I teach a variety of styles and genres, including (but not limited to) rock, pop, jazz, blues, funk, R&B, soul, jazz fusion, folk, bluegrass, and hip hop. I teach encouraging lessons with curriculum drawn from my students specific musical interests, and with a focus on exploration, goal setting, and cultivating each students unique relationship with their instrument and musical selves. In-person lessons are for NYC area residents only.

For 15 years, I have been studying, playing and performing guitar, all around the world! I have toured and gigged professionally at a multitude of venues and festivals. I was educated at Berklee College of Music and blend a thorough grounding in music theory and concepts with real-world experience playing in bands, as a front-person and as a supporting guitarist live and in the studio! I’ve played very successful shows and generated money for large CUNY funded disaster relief shows and played local shows for many metal bands. I can teach you more than just playing guitar I can show you how to maintain it and record your art into the real world. CUNY certified audio. Engineering experience. Pro tools is my main recording DAW of choice.
