I started out in 1986 by playing in high school and learning theory and jamming in a jazz improvisation class. Then I moved on to playing in various bands over the years playing metal, punk, and even blues. In 2016, I enrolled at NJCU and stared taking classical guitar lessons as well as taking music education courses as I graduated in 2020 with a degree in Music

I began my musical journey with the violin in elementary school, savoring the graceful melodies it offered. In 9th grade, I picked up the guitar, setting the stage for a whole new world of strings. High school was a turning point as I delved into jazz guitar, spending three years under the guidance of a seasoned mentor. Since then, I've been charting my path, making the guitar my lifelong companion for creativity and self-expression. At 29, my passion for music continues to grow, and I'm eager to share it with others. Let's play together!

Hi! My name is Ryan, and I'm a musician and guitar teacher from NYC. I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 2019 with a B.A. in Music. I have been teaching music for 10 years at all levels in a wide variety of settings. I want to help you learn the music you want to play, and give you the skills you need to become your own lifelong teacher! Together, we will create a customized curriculum informed by your musical goals and my decade of teaching experience. I teach a variety of styles and genres, including (but not limited to) rock, pop, jazz, blues, funk, R&B, soul, jazz fusion, folk, bluegrass, and hip hop. I teach encouraging lessons with curriculum drawn from my students specific musical interests, and with a focus on exploration, goal setting, and cultivating each students unique relationship with their instrument and musical selves.
