I started out in 1986 by playing in high school and learning theory and jamming in a jazz improvisation class. Then I moved on to playing in various bands over the years playing metal, punk, and even blues. In 2016, I enrolled at NJCU and stared taking classical guitar lessons as well as taking music education courses as I graduated in 2020 with a degree in Music

I began my musical journey with the violin in elementary school, savoring the graceful melodies it offered. In 9th grade, I picked up the guitar, setting the stage for a whole new world of strings. High school was a turning point as I delved into jazz guitar, spending three years under the guidance of a seasoned mentor. Since then, I've been charting my path, making the guitar my lifelong companion for creativity and self-expression. Hi! My name is Ryan, and I'm a musician and guitar teacher from NYC. I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 2019 with a B.A. in Music. I have been teaching music for 10 years at all levels in a wide variety of settings. I want to help you learn the music you want to play, and give you the skills you need to become your own lifelong teacher! Together, we will create a customized curriculum informed by your musical goals and my decade of teaching experience. I teach a variety of styles and genres, including (but not limited to) rock, pop, jazz, blues, funk, R&B, soul, jazz fusion, folk, bluegrass, and hip hop. I teach encouraging lessons with curriculum drawn from my students specific musical interests, and with a focus on exploration, goal setting, and cultivating each students unique relationship with their instrument and musical selves. Louis Mitten is a Brooklyn-based classical guitarist and composer. Born in Tampa, Florida, Louis began playing guitar when he was eight, performing pop and rock songs around the local Tampa Bay area. Louis went to Blake High School to study classical guitar with John Parris performing solo and chamber recitals. He then went to Florida State University to complete his degree in guitar performance with Bruce Holzman and Celso Cano, teaching, performing and studying guitar pedagogy. Louis is now located in Brooklyn, performing and teaching throughout New York City and competing internationally in classical guitar competitions.

Gary Rosenak is a guitarist, composer, educator based in New York City. He holds a BA, in Jazz Guitar Performance from Wichita State University, Masters of Music in Jazz Studies, and Advanced Certification in Teaching from NYU. He has studied guitar privately with: Peter Bernstein, Mike Moreno, and Wayne Krantz, and has studied composition and arranging privately with Gil Goldstein and Alan Ferber. Gary is an accomplished guitar instructor with 10 years of teaching experience who enjoys working with students of all ages and levels, and he cultivates a passion for music, and playing guitar through individualized tailored lessons. He has taught as an adjunct guitar instructor at New York University, and also served as a Volunteer virtual guitar instructor for Guitars4Vets, which provides music therapy healing through the joy of learning music for Veterans dealing with PTSD. Gary served as Guitarist/Band Leader and Musical Director for the US Air Force Bands in Northern California and Japan, where he also produced four Rock/Pop CD recording projects for the Air Force. Gary also performed weekly as a versatile guitarist, playing jazz, R&B and rock in the house band at the Silverado Resort in Napa, CA for over nine years. As part of the Air Force Band, Gary toured extensively in the United States, Europe, and Japan, as well as performances in Korea, Singapore, Turkey, and Bangladesh. He has also performed in such prestigious venues as the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Dresden Opera House and the Blue Note, NYC. Gary continues to perform jazz trio gigs and solo guitar gigs around NYC.
