Having advanced in the pro circuit for singles and medaled in both singles and doubles events at the highest level, I bring extensive competitive experience to my coaching. Currently, I teach in three different city programs, focusing on developing the basics and foundation of the game. Most of my students are 4.0 and 4.5 level players who consistently medal in tournaments. My favorite shot to teach is the third shot drop with the backhand roll.

Hi, I’m Michael Stine III, a PPR Certified Professional Pickleball Coach and competitive player based in Southern California. I’ve been playing pickleball for over two years and competing at a high level in CAPA, iPickle, collegiate tournaments, and even internationally in Italy. I’ve coached athletes ranging from ages 8 to 60+, including Junior PPA and National Junior Pickleball champions. Many of my students have gone on to win tournaments at the 3.0–4.5 levels in singles, doubles, and mixed divisions. My coaching approach focuses on developing strong fundamentals and technical precision, smart strategy and tactical awareness, and mental toughness to elevate your game quickly. Fueled from a life long passion for racquet sports including playing for UC Irvine tennis 1986-1990, I became a dedicated pickleball enthusiast in January 2021. I started at over 190 lbs and currently am at 160 lbs and in the best shape I have been for the last 20+ years, so I know the benefits of pickleball. Not to mention the wide array of good friends I have made over the years. I currently compete at the Senior Pro level and my DUPR rating is over 5.0 in both singles and doubles. I work with all levels of pickleball players and have coached students now competing at the professional level. I am an IPTPA certified instructor and my teaching philosophy is not just about how to swing the paddle, but teaching the art of pickleball - strategy, spins, footwork, and how to get the most out of your game.
